Bedtime Story

The Lighthouse That Forgot to Blink

On the farthest tip of Sleepy Cove stood a little lighthouse named Lumo. Every evening he winked three times at the returning fishing boats: “Welcome home, friends!” But one warm August night, Lumo got so enchanted watching shooting stars that he completely forgot to blink! His lantern stayed glowing—steady, golden, and warm like a miniature moon resting on the rocks. “Hey, Lumo, did your clockwork get rusty?” asked a sleepy seagull perched on his railing. “Hush,” whispered the lighthouse with a gentle smile. “In the cottage by the shore, a child is still reading a fairy tale under the covers. I’m holding my light steady until their little boat sails safely into the sweetest dream.”
