Fairy Tale in Verse

Captain Paper Boat

From a notebook page lined in ocean-blue ink, I folded a ship that would refuse to sink. With a juice-straw mast standing gallant and tall, I sailed across the puddle by the garden wall! I passed Dandelion Island glowing in gold, Waved to three mosquitoes, curious and bold, While the breeze—a jolly sailor carefree and light— Filled my paper sails with pure delight. “Where are you bound, little captain so free?” Asked a fluffy white cloud looking down at the sea. “I’m sailing to the harbor where every bright dream Finds a warm guiding star and a gentle moonbeam!”
